This article is about how the role of an accountant can often mirror that of a relationship counsellor or therapist. They often deal with finances connected to messy personal situations. So, how does one connect accounting with the turmoil of family issues, interpersonal problems, personality clashes, and emotions? With a Saul Bass-inspired illustration, of course! Here, I created a series of conceptual illustrations that speak not only to the expanded role of an accountant, but also to the relationship challenges they help their clients navigate.
